FAQs
The initial evaluation is $200-$225. Follow up visits are $90 per session regardless of what modalities or activities we choose to utilize during the visit. “Add-on” acupuncture is $50. There is a discount applied when a multiple visit package is purchased.
Many patients start in gym therapy twice weekly for 4-6 weeks then often decrease to weekly visits. Variables such as the type of injury or surgery, ability to follow the home exercise plan, rate of progression and treatment goals influence this recommendation. Our post-surgery and neurologic patients often gradually reduce in gym visits and increase at home activity as a patient regains function. Our geriatric and some neurologic patients may benefit from long term maintenance visits to stay feeling their best. We will work with your availability and budget to identify what is best in each situation.
In gym therapy visits are scheduled for 60 minutes. 50 minutes of that time is typically divided between modalities such as LASER, PEMF therapy, massage or stretching, therapeutic exercise and underwater treadmill use. If acupuncture is added on, the visit will be scheduled for 90 minutes.
In almost every instance appropriate therapy provided by or supervised by a rehabilitation trained veterinarian will hasten or enhance a pets recovery from injury, surgery or chronic pain. Your veterinarian recommended rehabilitation to either help identify the problem, to focus on treating the problem or to help your pet get back to 100% function. If you were referred for pain management, geriatric care or weight management we can provide targeted goals and the support you and your pet need.
Rehabilitation is still a new idea to many veterinarians, surgeons and pet owners. We know how resilient our pets are and they have an amazing capacity to heal, often while being too active, too soon. They love life and will find a way to keep going and keep playing despite pain or limitations in mobility. They may appear near normal after surgery or injury and find ways to navigate challenges of recovery. If your veterinarian hasn’t formally recommended rehabilitation we can work together to ensure they are comfortable with our treatment plan. Veterinary rehabilitation is an option for your pet and we are eager to join your pet’s health care team.
We will help you understand how to execute the at home exercises prescribed for your pet. We may discuss options for at home equipment to help you reach specific goals or to keep the training going after graduating from supervised in gym therapy. These equipment options are usually simple and affordable, our goal is to make the at home therapy safe and fun.
